Background

The Jimmy Swaggart Evangelistic Association was formed in 1973. In 1982, the non-profit organization changed its name to Jimmy Swaggart Ministries. In 1997, the ministry merged with Family Worship Center, the Baton Rouge, Louisiana, church founded by Jimmy Swaggart.

Jimmy Swaggart Ministries currently operates as a trade name registered to Family Worship Center. The ministry stopped filing the non-profit Form 990 information return when it merged with the church.

990s disclose total revenue, total expenses, compensation for officers, and provides a statement of expenses page. In 2023, the Jimmy Swaggart Bible College, which operates as a related organization of Family Worship Center, began submitting 990s. In 2023, Gabriel Swaggart, college president received over $1 million in total compensation from the church.
